The Yellow river, or Huang river, is 3400 miles long, and begins in the west. The river gets its coloring from a topsoil called loess. This river tends to flood often, and has been the cause of many deaths over the years. Some of the floods were good, they deposited the loess, which is full of nutrients, onto a place called the Tai Yuan, where humans later established a neolithic community.
